UBA Zambia introduces ‘easy pay’ for students

UNITED Bank for Africa (UBA) Zambia and Evelyn Hone College have launched an electronic student card aimed at easing payment modalities.

UBA Zambia Managing Director Emeka Dimanochie said this was part of a deliberate effort to continue inculcating the customer first policy by pioneering convenient products that speak to customer needs.

Mr Dimanochie said the card would assist instil a sense of financial discipline in the younger generation and provide students with necessary tools to save for a better future.

This is contained in a statement issued by UBA team member marketing and corporate communications Tengwera Musokotwane yesterday.

“As UBA, we have adopted the strategy of partnerships among others to assist the Government of Zambia in reducing the gap of financial inclusion by the targeted year of 2022,” he said.

Mr Dimanochie said UBA Zambia was encouraging the transformation of Zambia into a digitally empowered country.

Evelyn Hone College Student Electronic Card, he said, was an innovative product that would facilitate flexibility for both the student and the institution.

The key features of the card include a multifunctional card that works as a student identification card, a payment card and can also work as an access control card.

Mr Dimanochie said the card has a secure chip and a PIN protected for enhanced security that could be enabled and disabled in case of loss or theft.

The card is an Electronic wallet that could be loaded through transfers from banks to the card or cash deposit at UBA branches or partner outlets.
